Membership InformationThere are now several levels of STAC membership. The following table outlines each level. Below you can find more detailed information about the various levels, or click here for the membership form.
Individual MembershipAny individual may register to become a member of STAC for free. This entitles them access to future on-line resources (as mentioned above) and to regular STAC bulletins and updates. All members of registered STAC teams and clubs are automatically considered members and receive these benefits. Schools represent a special type of membership. STAC understands that schools are central to the expansion of Sepak Takraw as a sport in Canada. Many children are first exposed to a variety of sports in the school system and thus schools form the core for generating new interest in many sports in Canada. With a succesful school program, local recreational leagues will flourish. STAC acts as a resource for schools to connect with other schools and recreational clubs/teams in their area to further the interest in Sepak Takraw by Canadian children and youth. Any school can register with STAC for free and gain the base level benefits associated with being a member. Team MembershipThe Team membership category is for small numbers of individuals (up to 5) who want to enjoy the sport of Takraw and have access to compete in official STAC events as a registered team. For $60 a year, registered teams can purchase Takraw equipment at a discount of 10% and will receive one free takraw ball (of their choice) each year. Teams can also maintain contact information on the STAC website to help attract new members to the sport. The Team membership is perfect for a few friends who want to play the sport but have no nearby club or school to become a part of. It's also perfect for starting out. Many teams will find interest in the sport grows, spawning new teams in the area. If enough teams find themselves playing together frequently enough, they may consider forming a Club and gaining the additional benefits associated with the higher level of membership and possibly reducing their collective annual fee. ClubsClub membership represents the main type of membership in STAC. Many cultural groups, recreational organizations, and even businesses will find the Club level memberships best suit their needs. With no upper limit on membership numbers, Club membership is ideal for groups of 15 or larger who plan on growing the sport. Even smaller numbers may find registering as a club is more beneficial than registering several different teams. Also, with one flat fee for membership in STAC, larger clubs can make it cheaper for individual members to join. (Clubs and Teams are free to charge their own membership fees to cover the costs of the club) Clubs, like Teams, receive space on the STAC website for contact information and club meeting times and dates. Clubs can also submit news articles and updates to be included in the STAC bulletins that are sent (email or mail) to all STAC members. Below are the specifics of each level: Level 1For $200 per year, Club Level 1 membership offers more benefits than the Team level, such as 3 free takraw balls and 9 official STAC medals (3 each of gold, silver, and bronze) per year, a 15% discount on products, and a free @takrawcanada.com email address for the club. Clubs can also send teams to official STAC events and tournaments. Level 2For $400 per year, Club Level 2 is the highest membership tier available. It offers free insurance through STAC, 5 free takraw balls, 12 free official STAC medals, a 20% discount on all goods purchased from STAC, a free @takrawcanada.com email address for the club, and of course, elegibility to send teams to official STAC events and tournaments.
